How to dry peaches
Peaches can be dried in three different ways
Drying peaches at home
First, we wash the peaches well and cut them with a sharp knife. You must make sure that the diameter of the slices is not too thin; Because very thin slices become brittle and become chips after drying.
In the next step, we put the peach slices on the bottom of a tray with a distance and put a net on it. You will get the desired result after four or five days.
Note that every day the peach slices should be turned back and forth so that they dry evenly.
If the peach slices are in direct contact with the air, some of them may turn black; to solve this problem, a little fresh apple juice should be poured on the slices
Drying with an oven
After covering the oven tray with oil paper, place the halved peaches in the tray with space.
To dry with this method, the temperature of the oven should be at the lowest level (50 degrees).
After 4 to 8 hours, your dried peaches will be ready
During this time, turn the peaches regularly; Be careful not to dry them too much
Drying peaches with a dryer
First, we wash the peaches well and cut them in half. In the next step, we place the halved peaches on the drying tray with a distance to put them in the machine.
To dry peaches with a dryer, we must set the temperature to fruit mode or 57 degrees Celsius.
The time required to dry peaches in this way is 24 to 48 hours.
Check the peaches every 7-8 hours so they don’t get too dry
Storage and packing conditions for dried peaches
In order for dried fruits to keep their freshness, you should store them at a low temperature in the refrigerator.
Pay attention to this point that you should not put the dried fruit in a cold environment with a temperature of less than 4 degrees Celsius; Doing this causes the loss of vitamins in the dried fruit and reduces its quality.
Fruits should also be dried well; the presence of a small amount of moisture can cause mold and insect infestation.
The best containers for storing dried peaches are plastic containers with lids, plastic freezer bags and vacuum packaging. Of course, glass or wooden containers can also be used for a short period of time
